When I think of dedication, Joann Jones comes to mind. Besides the fact she has her own dogs at home to love and care for, she volunteers every Thursday at the SHS Pet Adoption Center, doing the “dirty work” of cleaning dog and cat kennels. Not only does Joann help within the shelter, she regularly attends adoption events such as the Friends for Life Mega Adoptions held at Redwood Acres, where she willingly transports equipment to and from the event, bringing an adoptable dog along as well. She tends to choose a dog that has been overlooked at the shelter, to give it a chance to be seen in a different atmosphere. Joann has been a supporter of SHS through her time, generous donations, and her selfless dedication to the animals. THANKS, JOANN!

The volunteers at Tailwaggers Thrift Shop are a dedicated group of people. Many have been with TW for several years, and all allocate several hours per week to sorting donations, helping customers, and keeping the store clean and well organized. In addition to providing financial support for our pet adoption center and spay/neuter programs, Tailwaggers often acts as a resource for the community regarding animal issues.

We are proud of Tailwaggers success and continue to improve the quality of our used goods while maintaining low prices. We encourage SHS members to visit us and see the great changes that have occurred during the past six months.

We also want to remind our members to donate their gently used items to us, especially fine gifts, small furniture pieces, and good quality clothing. We look forward to seeing our fellow animal lovers in our shop!
