Leaving a Legacy to Help the Animals
Marion Murphy, a long-time North Coast resident and animal lover, chose to help her animal friends by including the Sequoia Humane Society in her will. Marion’s memory lives on at the Sequoia Humane Society’s Pet Adoption Center, where funds from her estate will go toward putting covers on the outdoor dog play areas, improving the indoor dog kennels, and helping to reduce the number of unwanted animals being born through our low-cost spay and neuter programs. Many North Coast residents volunteer regularly and financially support the Sequoia Humane Society. When they are gone, their support is sorely missed. By leaving a legacy through a charitable gift in a will or trust, their commitment can continue.
For more information on how to include SHS in your estate planning, contact your lawyer, accountant, or financial planner. If you do not have your own agent, North Coast Legacy, a public awareness program operated through the Humboldt Area Foundation, can help you find one. North Coast Legacy
