Adoption Stories:
Lucy & Sophia, Bear & Sasha - Home at Last!

When an animal walks out the door of the Sequoia Humane Society’s Pet Adoption Center on it’s way to a new home, there is a sense of excitement and satisfaction, knowing that both pet and pet owner are about to embark on a joyous adventure in human/animal companionship! The staff and volunteers at SHS invest more than just time and energy in caring for these animals; each one also receives a small part of our hearts. In most cases, we know we will never see the animal again, and we send them off with a blessing for a long and happy life. So we are always overjoyed when our adopters send us updates and photos, like these, of their new family members, basking in the love of their new homes. May all our adoptions have such happy endings!

Adoption Stories “Our first outing with Lucy since adopting her from the Sequoia Humane Society two weeks ago. Took them to the beach at King Salmon where they ran and had a blast. Scooter and Lucy are such pals you'd think they came from the same litter. Please let everyone know at the shelter that Lucy (the little doxie who loves sqeeker toys) is happy and doing wonderfully.
Sincerely, Mary Duncan”

Adoption Stories “Our Mommie & Daddy said that we should send you a picture of us. We want to thank you for letting us stay together! Mommie tells us if it wasn’t for you, we wouldn’t be here. We have lots of toys, a really big yard to play in and 2 large, fuzzy & squishy beds to sleep in. We get to ride in the car to go to the beach. We like the water at Big Lagoon. It was fun to run through. Love, Bear & Sasha”

Adoption Stories “I thought you might like to see a picture of the teenage Princess Sophia (the ‘pale terror’) with her long-suffering Chow ‘brother’. She is spoiled and adored and rules the household! - Linda & Terry”
